Tesla Delivery Day Must Haves

Any one who knows me knows I love cutting edge of technology. I was so intrigued by the fully electric vehicle I had to have one. My first electric car was the Fiat 500e that only had an 85 mile range and the range anxiety was REAL. I was an early adapter and they were throwing so many tax rebates and incentives the car was darn near free. Due to some changes in my personal life I went back to a gas car and have regretted it ever since. It’s not just the environment but it’s everything about driving an electric vehicle that was sorely missed. The speed, the silence, and not paying for overpriced gas. To name a few. Fast forward to two weeks ago when my Tesla Model Y arrived. Not only am I excited to be back in the EV family…but Tesla is better than I could have imagined.  My Tessie was supposed to arrive in January/February but she came early. If you ordered a Tesla and think you have all of this time…hahaha. If I could do it all over again I would have been more prepared when it came time to take delivery. Here are a couple of things to have in place before your car arrives.

1. Weather Mats

All Weather Mats – especially if you live on the east coast where is rains and snows a lot. These are a must and have them ready when you pick up your vehicle. There are the mats I bought and I love them. Not only do they cover the front and back seats but they also cover the frunk and trunk and the storage space under the trunk.

2. Ceramic Coat Seats – My Tessie has white seats. That’s right and I love it. But I’m no fool. My lovely white seats are protected with a ceramic coat. Now I had mine done professionally but you can do it yourself and many people do. I haven’t used this product, Gyeon Leather Shield, but it’s super popular and there a re a ton of youtube videos with reviews and How To’s.

3. Mud Flaps – Are a necessity to protect your paint especially if experience a lot of snow. I’m finally purchasing the mud  flaps but you really want to have those installed as soon as your car is delivered.

4. Home Charging Station – I bought the Tesla Wall Charger directly from Tesla because I didn’t want to use an adapter every time I needed to charge my car. But There are many options out there but here are some tips. Your local power company may have a discount for certain home chargers so I would check with them first if you want to save some $$$. Here is the link to for the Tesla Wall Charger https://shop.tesla.com/product/wall-connector. But the Tesla service center had them for sale so I was able to grab one immediately sometimes the product shipped directly from Tesla can take weeks to arrive. I already had an appointment for installation set and was scrambling to find a wall charger. FYI…I ‘m gonna warn you the price to install a home charger can be expensive.
